I adore camelcamelcamel and check them often. Does anyone else notice that their data has gotten much lower quality ~lately?
Anecdotally, in ~2018 it felt like CCC was in sync with amazon's listed price (including sale prices) nearly 100% of the time, and often had price data going back 5+ years. These days it's common to see that a sale price hasn't propagated to CCC, and that the chart only goes back 12 to 18 months.
My assumption is that there's hostility / volatility from amazon re data availability, combined with things like sellers delisting and relisting items to get a new ID (and thus a blank slate on price history).
Regardless, big thanks to CCC for the work they do on price transparency.
Camelcamelcamel is a great tool for checking to see if a current price is good in the context of price history
