Hey HN,

I'm announcing the open-sourcing of Formabble, a game engine I've been developing that incorporates some novel approaches to game development. We're releasing it under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 in the coming weeks.

Key features of Formabble:

AI-driven development framework

CRDT-based networking for multiplayer

Custom language called Shards (80% of our codebase, already on GitHub)

Upcoming tool to facilitate engine transitions

The decision to open-source stems from a belief that these technologies could significantly impact how we approach game development. By making Formabble open-source, we aim to foster collaboration and push the boundaries of what's possible in game engines.

We're currently phasing out our existing infrastructure to prepare for this transition.

I'm keen to hear the community's thoughts. What potential do you see in an open-source game engine? What challenges or opportunities do you foresee?
